Gregory David Swartwood was born May 24, 1964 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He attended the University of Florida and Stetson University College of Law, graduating in May 1990. After school, Greg worked for two years in the State of Florida's Public Defender's Office where he received invaluable courtroom experience representing defendants charged with serious felonies including homicide, robbery and drug trafficking. In April 1992, Greg joined the law firm of Taraska, Grower, Unger and Ketcham, P.A. At this firm, Greg primarily handled medical malpractice actions representing physicians and hospitals.

In January 1995, Greg was one of four founding partners of the law firm of Unger, Swartwood, Latham and Indest, P.A. While a member of this firm, Greg represented numerous insurance companies in cases involving claims for auto, life, health, disability and homeowner's insurance benefits. Greg has represented numerous companies including Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, Home Depot, Fidelity and Guaranty Life Insurance Company, Liberty Life Insurance Company of Boston, Eastman Kodak Company and Liberty Mutual Insurance Company.

After a number of years representing insurance companies, doctors and hospitals, Greg resigned from his former firm and began his practice representing injured persons and individuals seeking insurance benefits and had been denied. Today, Greg's practices focus solely on the representation of injured persons and those individuals whose claims for automobile, life, health, disability or homeowner's benefits have been denied. This includes actions governed by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 ("ERISA") in which he has extensive experience. His practice also includes the area of bad faith insurance litigation.

Greg has tried many cases to a jury. Greg is admitted to, and has practiced in the courts of the State of Florida, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the Northern, Middle and Southern Federal District Courts, including the Trial Bar for the Southern District of Florida.
